Here comes baby! Gather your friends and family together to help Mom welcome a new life into the world. If you’re not sure where to begin, start with a certain theme for the baby shower. From there, you can come up with ideas for every aspect of the party, from the invitations to the food to games and prizes—it’s easier than you think.
Planning a Baby Shower
A typical baby shower takes place in the afternoon, though this is somewhat flexible. You will want to have snacks or a luncheon available, desserts such as a cake or small goodies, and some activities to keep things rolling.
For instance, if the parents know the baby’s sex but haven’t announced it yet, have guests take a guess and write it on a slip of paper. Fish one answer out of a bowl; the winner receives a small prize.
Create a Keepsake Scrapbook
Be sure to keep one blank invitation, some streamers/bits of wrapping paper, smaller wall decorations and other items aside. Then buy an inexpensive photo album and arrange the tidbits inside, along with commentary in the margins.
You can also print off pages with explanations, the list of guests that attended and other notable happenings related to the shower, and enclose them in the album. The guest of honor will love it – and so one day will baby-to-be!
